The Beginning of Life in Christ

Baptism is the first sacrament we receive and the foundation of the Christian life. Through the waters of Baptism, we are cleansed of sin, become children of God, and are welcomed into the family of the Church.

What Does the Catholic Church Teach?

"Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit." (CCC 1213)

Through Baptism, we are freed from sin, reborn as sons and daughters of God, and incorporated into the Church. Baptism leaves an indelible spiritual mark on the soul and can only be received once.

What Does Scripture Say?

"Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 28:19)

Jesus commanded His disciples to baptize all nations, making Baptism the doorway into Christian life and discipleship.

Why Is Baptism Important?

Baptism begins our journey with Christ. It opens the door to the other sacraments and fills us with sanctifying grace, allowing us to share in God's divine life.

Interested in Receiving This Sacrament?

Baptism for children under the age of 7 can be arranged by contacting the Faith Formation Office and speaking with Terri Simonetta or Sister Sophie. Families must be registered parishioners in good standing.

Children age 7 and older are required to attend weekly Faith Formation classes prior to the reception of Sacraments.

An appointment will be required to start the process. Please contact the office at 623-581-0707 to speak with Terri or Sr. Sophie. Fee is $60
