The Music Ministry Contract
Thank you for joining the St James Music Ministry. We appreciate you donating your time and talents. Like most ministries we rely on volunteers to make us successful. Unlike most ministries, we are dependent on EVERY member’s REGULAR participation in order to be the most effective. We value our members, our talents and our congregation. The following efforts are for building a community that can grow and allow us to fully rely upon each other spiritually, and musically. Please prayerfully consider this commitment; as many others will depend on you. We look forward to praying and playing with you! Read and sign the St. James Music Ministry expectations, so our ministry can be the best we can be to praise our Lord.
Because every member is important to the quality of sound and prayer, It is expected that every member;
Attends their choir’s rehearsals, warm-up rehearsals and masses.
If unable to attend rehearsals or masses, notifies the director in advance; missed information is expected to be recovered independently.
Arrives early, is present, and is prepared for each rehearsal by reviewing any and all material given in advance.
PROMPTLY makes RSVPs and/or auditions in advance for special occasions or events.
Accepts gracefully if they are not prompt to rehearsals or do not RSVP; that they may be asked not to participate in said event.
Should expect and gracefully accept critiques and tips to improve their ability. The stronger the parts, the stronger the whole.
Enhances their musical abilities outside of rehearsals and stays in playing/singing shape. (This is imperative, as this done diligently takes care of most of what needs taking care of as a musician)
Follows any norms created and decided upon by our team members.
Respects everyone; and with great honor prevents gossip, slander, prejudice, and crude humor from entering the ministry
Participates in praying with everyone
Attends the annual Music Ministry Retreat.
