Cursillo

Cursillo is a movement of the Catholic Church which had its beginning in Spain and is designed and intended to provide a "short course" in Christianity. Cursillo is Spanish for short course. The cost to an individual is a three day weekend, and the returns vary from individual to individual, but are uniformly significant.

There is a lot more being said than ever before about evangelization within the Catholic Church and our responsibilities to "evangelize". The concept of evangelization is foreign to most Catholics and creates images of going two by two, door to door, with bible in hand. How the Cursillo Movement addresses this area of concern is stated well in a paragraph from The National Cursillo Center web site:

In the Cursillo Movement, we approach evangelization as a very natural act of being Christlike within each of our daily activities.  We realize that while most people would like to live their lives in a Christ-like manner, the pressures of the world often make this difficult.  The Cursillo Movement provides a method and a technique to provide each of us with the tools, the mentality, the strength, and the support to make this natural type of evangelization possible.

Please take the time to visit The National Cursillo Center web site, and join us for a week end.
